SEP(land) RENEWAL

expired SEP RATING renewal

If an SEP Rating has expired the following requirements will need to be met in order to renew it:

  • Training flight with an Instructor (as necessary) to prepare for a Licensing Skill Test

  • Complete the Licensing Skill Test with an authorised examiner

The only way to renew an SEP once it has expired is to complete a skills test with an examiner. This will be of a similar format to the PPL skills test. Before taking this test you will need to be issued a course completion certificate by an instructor. The requirements in order to get this certificate will vary from pilot to pilot. As a general rule the longer the gap since your last flight, the more training will be needed in order to obtain the required skill level. Once the skill test is successfully passed the examiner will sign the licence and provide a certificate of renewal which is to be sent to the authority.
